A strong commercial cleaning program starts with a clear understanding of the facility, the people using it and the operating schedule. This guide focuses on the questions worth resolving before a scope is approved.
Start with zones, not a generic checklist
Separate receiving/loading, warehouse aisles, employee areas, washrooms, entrances and any offices. Different zones have different traffic, access and cleaning requirements.
Document operating constraints
Record shift times, forklift traffic, loading windows, restricted areas and any site-specific access or PPE rules before the cleaning schedule is finalized.
Define floors clearly
Warehouse floors often account for a large part of the scope. Note the floor type, debris load, spill expectations and whether routine sweeping/mopping is enough or periodic machine cleaning is needed.
Include staff and shared areas
Break rooms, washrooms, entrances and touchpoints affect employee experience just as much as the warehouse floor.
Build a measurable scope
A facility manager should be able to tell what is cleaned, how often, by whom and how exceptions are reported. That makes supplier performance easier to review.
Connect the checklist to an actual walkthrough
Generic checklists are useful for planning, but a commercial quote should be based on the real facility. Assured Hands uses the walkthrough to document the rooms, frequency, access, floor requirements and responsibilities before preparing a quote.
